El Fdil noted that this AFCON, raised to a level never reached before, shows that Morocco is fully ready to host even more prestigious events, such as the 2030 World Cup, which it will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
“If AFCON 2025 has now become the new continental reference, the 2030 World Cup, with the Moroccan touch, promises to be an event of historic magnitude,” he underlined.
The NAC Technical Director also praised the run of the Atlas Lions, finalists of the tournament after 22 years, noting that this performance illustrates the direct impact of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s Strategic Vision for the promotion of national football.
According to El Fdil, this long-term Royal Vision has transformed Moroccan football, establishing it as a true driver of sports development and a catalyst for performance and international influence.
This approach, he pointed out, is based on long-term structural investments, prioritizing the building of solid foundations rather than the pursuit of short-term success.
Thanks to this enlightened vision, underpinned by world-class infrastructure, high-level academies and efficient governance, Moroccan football is now embedded in a logic of sustainable performance and on a carefully thought-out and rigorously planned path of excellence, he emphasized.
This structuring dynamic, El Fdil stressed, has resulted in a national team that today, positioned 8th in the FIFA world rankings, displays consistency in performance, a clear identity, strong tactical discipline and top-level players.
