Morocco is African and will remain so, and will continue to uphold the Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of a resilient and united Africa, affirmed the President of the Amadeus Institute, Brahim Fassi Fihri.
“Morocco is African, it will remain so, and it will continue to carry a Vision, that of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, of a resilient and united Africa, capable of meeting international standards, capable of transcending itself, capable of once again rising to the occasion, in full independence and without complexes,” Fassi Fihri said in an article published on the Institute’s portal.
According to him, Morocco is an African country by virtue of its geography, history, roots and its irreversible projection toward its continent. Its African identity is structural and rooted in a centuries-old continuity marked by exchanges and the movement of people, trade, culture and spirituality, he stressed.
The Kingdom is today one of the main economic engines of the continent, a central player in African value chains, a major investor in West, Central and East Africa, and a strategic partner for many countries, Amadeus president noted.
These ties are multidimensional, dynamic and irreversible, and are set to grow steadily, he said, adding that in line with the Sovereign’s Vision, this fully embraced African identity is part of a determined and constant commitment to a united and prosperous Africa, based on the sharing of Moroccan experience, expertise and know-how.
Praising the Kingdom’s successful organization of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Fassi Fihri said that Morocco delivered, by far, the best AFCON in history: ultra-modern stadiums, infrastructure, hospitality, transport, logistics, accommodation, record attendances and overall delivery. “AFCON 2025 was an AFCON of excellence”.
