Heavy rain, thunderstorms with a risk of hail and strong gusts of wind are forecast from Friday to Sunday in several Moroccan provinces, announced the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM).

Heavy rain and thunderstorms with a risk of hail (30-40 mm) are expected from Friday at 12 p.m. to Saturday at 6 a.m. in the provinces of Sefrou, Ouezzane, Tetouan, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khenifra, Al Hoceima, Taounate, Taza, Chefchaouen, and Larache, the DGM says in an orange alert bulletin.

From Saturday at 12 p.m. to Sunday at 6 a.m., the same phenomenon with rainfall ranging (40-70 mm) will affect the provinces of Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Kenitra, Ouezzane, Tetouan, and Larache, while rain (30-40 mm) will affect the provinces of Tangier-Assilah, M’Diq-Fnideq, Sidi Slimane, Benslimane, Berrechid, Casablanca, Mediouna, Khemisset, Taza, Khenifra, Sidi Kacem, Salé, Moulay Yaâcoub, Fahs-Anjra, Mohammedia, Nouaceur, Rabat, Skhirat-Temara, El Jadida, Beni Mellal, Meknes, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Fez, Sefrou, and Taounate.

In addition, strong gusts of wind (75-85 km/h) are forecast for Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Boulemane, Sefrou, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Fahs-Anjra, Taza, Guercif, Tangier-Assilah, Ifrane, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Midelt, Berkane, Tetouan, Driouch, Figuig, Jerada, M’Diq-Fnideq, Nador, Tata, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Tiznit, and Larache.

On Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., the same phenomenon will affect the provinces of Oujda-Angad, Fahs-Anjra, Midelt, Boulemane, Tangier-Assilah, Larache, Kenitra, Berkane, Driouch, Nador, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Tetouan, M’Diq-Fnideq, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Taourirt, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Sefrou, Figuig, Jerada, Guercif, and Taza.

The same gusts of wind are forecast for Saturday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the provinces of Benslimane, Berrechid, Rabat, Salé, Skhirat-Témara, Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammedia, El Jadida, and Nouaceur.
