The Lalla Asmaa Foundation, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa, is organizing Saturday at the library of Mohammed VI University of Sciences and Health (UM6SS) the first edition of the national robotics competition “Parking au Top,” an unprecedented event bringing together nearly 200 middle school, high school, and university students from different regions of the Kingdom around an ambitious technological and educational challenge.

The competition also features the participation of deaf, hard-of-hearing, and cochlear implant students from the Foundation’s Centers, who are competing alongside hearing participants under the same technical and evaluation conditions.

The event highlights the innovation, creativity, and scientific excellence of young Moroccans through the design and operation of robots capable of carrying out trailer parking maneuvers in a two-level parking facility, using both remote-controlled and autonomous modes, according to a statement by the Lalla Asmaa Foundation.

Through this initiative, the Lalla Asmaa Foundation reaffirms its conviction that access to science, technology, and innovation constitutes a powerful lever for inclusion, personal development, and the promotion of Moroccan youth talent.

The competition is structured around two categories. The first, the “Junior” category, is intended for middle and high school students, with remote-controlled robots required to complete a course demanding precision and technical mastery. The second, the “Senior” category, is reserved for university and engineering school students, integrating advanced functionalities such as line tracking, obstacle avoidance, and autonomous navigation.

Beyond the robotics competition itself, the event will also offer young participants the opportunity to present their projects and technological innovations before a jury composed of professionals and sector experts, the statement continued, noting that this aspect will showcase the creativity, innovative spirit, and ability of young people to propose original technological solutions.

On this occasion, two special distinctions will be awarded to recognize the best innovations: the Best Innovation Award – Junior Category and the Best Innovation Award – Senior Category.

In total, eight trophies will be awarded during this first edition, organized with the support of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sciences and Health and several private partners (Raynov and Robotics by IARETech).

This competition is part of the continuation of the initiatives undertaken by the Lalla Asmaa Foundation to promote scientific and technological disciplines among deaf and hard-of-hearing youth, as well as its long-term commitment to science and research.

Robotics and digital technologies are now an integral part of the educational curriculum at the Foundation’s Centers in Rabat, Tangier, and Meknes, from primary school through high school. This commitment also continues in higher education through academic partnerships enabling students to pursue studies in electronics, computer science, and robotics.

In December 2025, the Lalla Asmaa Foundation further strengthened its scientific commitment by signing an agreement with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sciences and Health aimed at structuring research on childhood deafness, particularly through the study of genetic predispositions within the Moroccan population.
