Princess Lalla Meryem, President of the Social Works of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), chaired on Saturday in Rabat a meeting of the Board of Directors of the FAR Social Works, held at the General Staff headquarters. The session took place in accordance with the High Instructions of King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the FAR.
Upon her arrival, Princess Lalla Meryem was received by the Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, who is also Deputy President of the Board. She then reviewed a detachment of the Headquarters Battalion before being greeted by members of the Board of Directors, according to a statement from the FAR General Staff.
The meeting brought together senior military and government officials, including the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defence Administration, the Inspector General of the FAR, the Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, as well as other members of the Board of Directors of the FAR Social Works.
During the session, the Brigadier General Head of the General Directorate of Social Services presented a detailed report on the range of social services provided over the past year to beneficiaries, along with the action plan scheduled for 2027.
The meeting affirms the continued regularity of the Board’s work under the active leadership of Princess Lalla Meryem, reflecting the High Solicitude of King Mohammed VI toward members of the Armed Forces and their families.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Royal Armed Forces, King Mohammed VI highlighted ongoing military modernization initiatives, emergency flood response operations, and social welfare programs benefiting service members and their families.
In Rabat, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan presided over a luncheon at the Officers’ Mess Club to commemorate the milestone, acting on the instructions of the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the FAR.
