Morocco and Oman signed, on Monday in Rabat, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the training and qualification of lawyers, legal professionals and experts.

The agreement, signed by Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi and his Omani counterpart, Abdullah bin Mohamed Al Saidi, aims to establish an institutional framework for cooperation geared towards promoting the exchange of expertise, best practices and successful experiences between the two sides.

Part of the efforts to further strengthen the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries, the agreement seeks to enhance cooperation through the exchange of action plans, scientific content and training programs.

It also provides for the organization of training sessions, conferences, symposia and specialized workshops, as well as the development of annual action plans to implement the commitments agreed upon by both parties.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the two officials to exchange views on a number of issues of common interest in the judicial and legal fields and to review prospects for strengthening institutional cooperation in support of the modernization of the justice system and the development of legal and professional competencies.

Al Saidi stressed that the memorandum of understanding constitutes a practical framework for advancing cooperation between the two ministries, opening up new prospects for the exchange of experience, knowledge and specialized expertise in the fields of training and qualification of lawyers, legal professionals and experts.

For his part, Ouahbi stated that this agreement illustrates the strength of the fraternal relations between Morocco and the Sultanate of Oman and expresses the common will to elevate judicial and legal cooperation to a higher level, through investment in training, the sharing of expertise, and the strengthening of the capacities of justice professionals.

This initiative reflects the determination of the two countries to strengthen cooperation in the judicial and legal fields and further consolidate their institutional partnership.
