As part of the preparations for the upcoming elections for members of the House of Representatives, scheduled for September 23, 2026, a meeting was held on Friday in Rabat, attended by public media officials, focusing on the media coverage of these events, according to a statement from the Ministry of Interior.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the arrangements and measures to be taken by the public media to help create the appropriate conditions to encourage citizens, particularly the youth, to register on the general electoral rolls, to mobilize them for massive participation in the voting process, and to strengthen their confidence in the national electoral process.
During this meeting, which took place in a positive atmosphere, emphasis was placed on the importance of adopting an adequate awareness-raising discourse, punctuated by frank and fruitful debate, and of infusing greater professionalism, innovation, and creativity into the content of programs produced by the public media, particularly those related to political issues and national elections.
The meeting also stressed the need to involve political parties in the communication campaign regarding the preparations for the upcoming legislative elections across television and radio programs produced by the public media. This would enable political formations to contribute to the mobilization of citizens and convince them to engage in the national electoral process, with the ultimate goal of meeting the challenge of achieving a respectable voter turnout in the upcoming ballot.
