Morocco made a strong impression at the Africa Day celebration held Saturday evening in London, with remarkable participation that showcased the richness of the Kingdom’s cultural heritage and the elegance of its traditions.

The event highlighted Morocco’s rich clothing heritage through the participation of the Kingdom’s Embassy in the UK in the African fashion show, featuring the Moroccan caftan, a jewel of the country’s intangible cultural heritage.

A stand, organized by Morocco’s Embassy in the UK, also attracted significant interest. Serving as a true showcase of Moroccan civilization, it enabled visitors to discover the kingdom’s many facets, including its millennia-old history, cultural heritage, craftsmanship, and the values of friendliness, hospitality, and etiquette that characterize Moroccan society.

The Africa Day celebration provided an opportunity for speakers to recall the vision of the founding fathers of African unity and their ambition to build a united, supportive, and prosperous continent.

Participants stressed that the day serves as a valuable occasion to assess Africa’s progress in development, advancement, and the inclusion of African peoples.

Held this year under the theme of Agenda 2063, with a particular focus on sustainability and access to water and sanitation, the gathering highlighted the challenges and opportunities facing the continent in its pursuit of sustainable development.

Speakers also emphasized the importance of African unity in enabling the continent to make its voice heard more effectively on the international stage. Calls were made to transform African solidarity into concrete actions that benefit populations and advance the continent’s development.

Education and learning featured prominently in the discussions. Participants underscored the need to invest in human capital to build an Africa founded on dignity, resilience, innovation, and progress.

Through its distinguished participation, Morocco reaffirmed its commitment to the ideals of cooperation, solidarity, and shared development in Africa, while showcasing the richness of its cultural identity and its active role, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in strengthening ties among the peoples of the continent.
