The expansion of the Safran Aerosystems Morocco industrial plant was inaugurated on Thursday in Tiflet during a ceremony chaired by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, in the presence of Safran Aerosystems President Sébastien Weber and several senior officials from the group.
The inauguration is part of ongoing efforts to develop Morocco’s aerospace industry and broaden its product portfolio, particularly high-performance piping systems, oxygen masks, protective covers for evacuation slides (deco covers), and life jackets.
On this occasion, Mezzour emphasized that the 5,000-square-meter expansion reflects the shared commitment of Morocco and the Safran Group to sustaining a dynamic of growth, innovation, and industrial excellence.
He added that the project is part of a technological modernization strategy aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s competitiveness and accelerating the development of the national aerospace ecosystem.
For his part, Weber noted that Morocco’s aerospace industry has maintained remarkable momentum for several years under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He highlighted that Morocco has become a true industrial hub for Safran’s ecosystem, with several production facilities and joint ventures concentrated mainly along the Casablanca-Rabat-Nouaceur corridor.
The Safran Group’s plant has established itself as a key link in the international aerospace supply chain. A global leader in the manufacture of engines for short- and medium-haul aircraft and the world’s third-largest aerospace group outside the aircraft manufacturing segment, the Safran Group has been operating in Morocco for 25 years.
