Issa Diop is on the verge of leaving Fulham to join Ipswich Town in a $10 million deal, bringing his four-year spell at Craven Cottage to an end.
The 29-year-old centre-back, who joined Fulham from West Ham United in August 2022, is expected to sign a four-year contract with the newly promoted Premier League side following his impressive performances for the Atlas Lions at the 2026 World Cup.
According to Foot Mercato, a full agreement has been reached between Fulham and Ipswich Town. The player has also agreed to personal terms on a four-year deal, and he will undergo his medical test very soon.
The same source added that the transfer fee will be around $10m, ending the player’s journey with Fulham, despite having one year left on his current contract with the London side.
Ipswich Town’s move for the defender comes after a standout performance at the 2026 World Cup. Diop played a decisive role in Morocco’s Round of 32 win over the Netherlands, scoring a stoppage-time equalizer to force extra time before Morocco advanced on penalties.
His extensive experience in the Premier League made him an attractive option for Ipswich. Diop made 173 appearances for both Fulham and West Ham in the Premier League. including 13 appearances last season.
