Speaker of Morocco’s House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami held talks Tuesday in Rabat with Catalina Del Real Mihovilovic, chair of the Chile-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Chilean Chamber of Deputies, as well as with members of the group, who are on a working visit to the Kingdom.
The meeting focused on the historic ties and shared values uniting the two countries, which serve as a lever for reinforcing bilateral and multilateral relations between Morocco and Chile, according to a press release from the House of Representatives.
The two sides also covered the major initiatives undertaken by Morocco under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which have made the Kingdom a model and a source of interest and inspiration at the continental and international levels in several strategic areas, the same source added.
On this occasion, Del Real Mihovilovic and the delegation accompanying her renewed their support for Morocco’s territorial integrity, its sovereignty over its entire territory, and UN Security Council Resolution 2797.
For his part, Talbi Alami expressed his appreciation for this position, emphasizing that Morocco’s foreign affairs, in accordance with the High Guidelines of His Majesty the King, are founded on cooperation, solidarity, non-interference in the domestic affairs of States, respect for their territorial integrity and sovereignty, and the peaceful resolution of all conflicts.
The parties also discussed Morocco-Chile parliamentary relations, which have grown stronger in recent years thanks to continuous dialogue between the two legislative bodies, exchange of visits, sharing parliamentary expertise and experiences, as well as coordination within various continental and international parliamentary fora, all in the service of the common interests and development to which Morocco and Chile aspire, the press release continues.
In addition to the chair of the friendship group, the Chilean delegation includes Members of Parliament Zandra Esther Parisi Fernández, Roberto Enrique Arroyo Muñoz, Raúl Alfonso Leiva Carvajal, and Mario Antonio Olavarria Rodriguez.
Also participating in these discussions were Chile’s Ambassador to Rabat Alberto Alejandro Rodriguez Aspillaga, as well as several officials and administrative staff from both parties.
