The 8th Conference of the Arab Parliament and presidents of Arab councils and parliaments praised the role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in defending the Holy City and supporting the resilience of the Palestinian people.
The resolution adopted at the close of the conference—held Saturday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, at the initiative of the Arab Parliament in partnership with the Arab Parliamentary Union—praised the role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in defending the Holy City and supporting the resilience of the Palestinian people.
The resolution reiterated support for the strategic role played by the Al-Quds Committee, under the chairmanship of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in defending the City of Al-Quds, the cradle of monotheistic religions, the preservation of its religious and Abrahamic identity, support for the resistance of the Palestinian people in the Holy City, as well as the struggle against measures taken by the occupying power aimed at altering its legal, historical, and demographic status.
The content also reaffirmed the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among which is the establishment of their independent and sovereign state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Al-Quds as its capital, as well as the right of Palestinian refugees to return and to compensation, in accordance with international law.
The resolution further emphasized that the two-State solution remains the only viable option for achieving a just and comprehensive peace, in accordance with international law and the Arab Peace Initiative.
