FAR Inspector General Holds Talks with AFRICOM Commander

On the High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, FAR Inspector General and Commander of the South Zone, held, on Thursday, at the South Zone General Staff, talks with General Dagvin Anderson, Commander of the United States Africa Command “AFRICOM,” who is visiting the Kingdom of Morocco as part of the 22nd African Lion exercise.

During this meeting, the two officials discussed the various aspects of bilateral military cooperation, particularly operational training. The joint organization of the “African Lion” exercise every year since 2004 stands as a testament to the dynamism of this multifaceted military cooperation, according to a statement from the FAR General Staff.

On this occasion, the Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the South Zone, and Brigadier General Mohsine Bensdira, Head of the 3rd Bureau of the South Zone General Staff, were awarded the United States of America’s “Legion of Merit” (LOM) medal.

The decorations were presented during an official ceremony, on behalf of the US Secretary of War, by General Dagvin Anderson, Commander of AFRICOM, the statement concludes.
