Karima Benyaich, Morocco’s Ambassador to Spain, met with Francina Armengol, Speaker of the Spanish Congress of Deputies, on Thursday to discuss ways to strengthen their countries’ robust relations across various sectors.
During the meeting, both Benyaich and Armengol praised the “excellent relations” that have long existed between the Kingdoms of Morocco and Spain, as well as between their respective royal families. They also commended the close cooperation between the governments and parliaments of both nations.
They highlighted the current momentum in bilateral relations, particularly following Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez’s visit to Morocco in April 2022, at the invitation of HM King Mohammed VI.
“The Joint Declaration adopted during this visit has outlined a multidimensional and more ambitious vision for bilateral relations,” they emphasized.
The meeting also emphasized the significance of the upcoming plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, scheduled to take place next week in Morocco. They noted that this regional gathering will further enhance cooperation ties in the region.
