Speaker of Morocco’s House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami received a delegation from the United Kingdom’s Royal College of Defence Studies on Wednesday in Rabat. The delegation is on a working visit to the Kingdom from May 9 to 15 as part of a training program for 17 members of the College, accompanied by several supervisors.
During the meeting, the Speaker of the House briefed the delegation members on specific features of the Moroccan political system, as well as the major initiatives and strategic projects the Kingdom has undertaken under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, according to a press release from the House.
Talbi Alami also provided an overview of Morocco’s parliamentary experience, which spans more than sixty years, as well as the prerogatives of the House of Representatives in areas of legislation, oversight, and evaluation of public policies, and its bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations, the same source adds.
The United Kingdom’s Royal College of Defence Studies forms part of the British Defence Academy and brings together senior civilian and military officials from around fifty countries.
The training program at this institution focuses on issues related to security, stability, and prosperity, and includes study tours abroad to analyze strategic challenges and explore approaches taken in different regions.
