Spain’s Interior Minister Calls Migration Cooperation with Morocco ‘Exemplary’

Madrid

Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska praised the cooperation between Morocco and Spain on migration, describing it as “exemplary”.

“Cooperation between Morocco and Spain is exemplary. We have been close, reliable, and loyal partners for a long time,” the Spanish minister said in an interview with the public television channel TVE.

In January, Grande-Marlaska made his first foreign visit to Morocco after the inauguration of the new government. During this visit, he emphasized in an exclusive interview with MAP that “the foundations of cooperation between Morocco and Spain have been built over the years on shared goals and principles, within a framework of mutual trust and absolute loyalty, allowing both parties to develop means of interaction effectively and efficiently.”

Morocco and Spain share a multi-dimensional strategic partnership covering all areas, thanks to the Roadmap adopted in April 2022 during the visit of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to Morocco, at the invitation of HM King Mohammed VI.
