The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency briefed the foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), gathered in Istanbul on Saturday for the 51st session of their Council, on its ongoing humanitarian initiatives in support of Palestinians in Al-Quds and Gaza.
In a document distributed to the heads of delegations and representatives of organizations participating in this two-day meeting (June 21–22), the Agency, operating under the Al-Quds Committee chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, stated that it continues, under Royal Instructions, to implement humanitarian initiatives on the ground for the benefit of Palestinians, particularly in light of the consequences of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
In this regard, the Agency distributed food aid during Eid Al-Adha to 850 of the neediest families in Al-Quds and Gaza. The document also mentions the launch of a distribution campaign for flour, various food items, and drinking water benefiting 1,000 families in Gaza.
Moreover, in coordination with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development, the Agency has begun the necessary preparations to produce prosthetic limbs for 23 children who suffered amputations due to the war. This is part of the first phase of a program aimed at covering 300 cases, in partnership with Moroccan associations.
The Agency has also launched, in cooperation with local associations in Gaza, a care program for 500 orphans who lost their parents in the war. This program includes a monthly allowance, social support on religious occasions, and additional aid for each school year.
The document further states that the Agency, in collaboration with other partners, has established a psychological clinic to provide specialized care for the amputated children and orphans under its care who require psychological follow-up.
The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency is participating in the 51st session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, which opened earlier in the day, with a delegation led by Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, the Agency’s Director.
