The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tehraoui, visited on Thursday the Moulay Youssef University Hospital in Rabat, as well as several healthcare facilities in the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, as part of the monitoring of hospital services and health projects.

This visit is part of the field inspection program launched by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, in line with the High Royal Guidelines aimed at ensuring modern, equitable, and high-quality health services for all citizens.

On this occasion, Tehraoui reviewed the functioning of the hospital’s various services, including care units, specialized medical services, and outpatient structures, in order to assess the quality of services provided and identify areas for improvement to ensure optimal patient care, the ministry said in a statement.

He also inspected preparations for the official opening, scheduled for September 15, of the intensive care unit at Moulay Youssef University Hospital. With its 8 beds and state-of-the-art biomedical equipment, this unit will strengthen the hospital’s capacity to handle critical cases and ease pressure on other healthcare facilities in the region, the same source noted.

Furthermore, the Minister followed up on several ongoing health projects in Témara and Tamesna. At Lalla Aïcha University Hospital in Témara, he reviewed the operation of services and efforts undertaken to improve the quality of care for the local population, while in Tamesna, he visited the construction site of the Proximity Hospital, now in its final phase of construction.

With a total investment of 80 million dirhams, this facility will provide a capacity of 45 beds, serve the needs of more than 60,000 residents, and constitute a major addition to the region’s healthcare offer.

During this tour, Tehraoui stressed the need to respect deadlines and technical standards to ensure the quality and durability of healthcare infrastructure.

This visit is part of a national program to monitor and support modernization projects of the healthcare system, aimed at implementing the reforms undertaken to improve services provided to citizens, the statement concluded.
