Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat highlighted the renewed momentum in Moroccan-Turkish economic cooperation, clearly reflected in the strong turnout at the Morocco-Türkiye Business and Investment Forum, which opened on Friday in Istanbul.

This meeting is an opportunity to give new impetus to trade relations between the two countries, which have experienced major growth in recent years thanks to the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and His Majesty King Mohammed VI, particularly after the entry into force of the free trade agreement between the two countries, Bolat said during the opening session.

Due to their geographical locations and free trade agreements with the European Union, Morocco and Türkiye offer promising opportunities for partnership in the areas of investment, trade, industry, and transportation, he noted, recalling that Morocco is a gateway to Africa and the United States, while Türkiye is a central platform for accessing the Asian market.

Bolat noted that both countries attract significant international investment and that their industrial sectors are increasingly integrated into international value chains, paving the way for broader cooperation between Moroccan and Turkish economic actors.

In this context, he emphasized the need to strengthen mutual investment, which is an essential lever for accelerating economic cooperation, developing trade, and expanding existing economic partnerships.

The Turkish official also congratulated Morocco on its designation as co-host of the 2030 World Cup, alongside Spain and Portugal, noting that preparations for this global event offer Turkish companies broad opportunities for cooperation in the areas of stadium renovation, hotel construction, road network development, and airport capacity expansion.

The Forum’s program, which includes the participation of government officials, representatives of public institutions, businesspeople, and investors from Morocco and Türkiye, features sessions dedicated to presenting investment opportunities and the business climate in both countries.
