The Speaker of the House of Councillors, Mohamed Ould Errachid, held talks on Tuesday in Manama with the Chairman of Bahrain’s Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh.
During the meeting, both sides underscored the depth of Moroccan-Bahraini relations, examined prospects for joint parliamentary cooperation, and reviewed ways to strengthen parliamentary coordination and consultation between the two countries, the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
On this occasion, the Speaker of the House of Councillors affirmed that the steady development of Moroccan-Bahraini relations across various fields reflects the high regard and close attention of the leaders of the two brotherly Kingdoms.
In this regard, he praised Bahrain’s consistent positions and its permanent support for the Kingdom of Morocco, notably its backing of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, as well as the highly appreciated initiative to open the first Consulate General of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the city of Laayoune.
Ould Errachid also highlighted the progress made in parliamentary cooperation between the House of Councillors and Bahrain’s Shura Council, stressing the shared determination of both institutions to step up coordination and consultation, as well as exchanges of visits and expertise.
For his part, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh stressed the importance of continuing to develop parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, enhancing the exchange of legislative experiences and expertise, and intensifying coordination within regional and international parliamentary bodies in order to support shared Arab causes and consolidate the foundations of security, stability, and development.
In this regard, he praised Morocco’s leading role in hosting and organizing parliamentary dialogues and forums, as well as its commendable efforts to strengthen cooperation between Arab and African parliaments.
He noted that these initiatives reflect Morocco’s prominent standing and contribute to reinforcing joint parliamentary action and promoting a culture of dialogue and integration among peoples.
Moreover, Al Saleh affirmed that the strong fraternal ties between the two Kingdoms continue to grow in line with shared visions, constituting a unique model of solid historical relations, thanks to the support and close attention of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his brother, His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
In the same context, he welcomed the evolution of Bahraini-Moroccan relations and the joint successes and achievements recorded over recent decades, stressing that the two Kingdoms are pursuing, in a spirit of fraternity and with high ambition, the strengthening of cooperation and joint action, as well as the deepening of strategic partnerships in the service of the interests of both countries and their brotherly peoples.
The Bahraini official also reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s unwavering position, its firm support and steadfast solidarity with the Kingdom of Morocco regarding the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, as well as its continued backing of the initiatives and measures taken by Morocco to preserve its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, in line with the strong fraternal ties between the two countries and Bahrain’s approach based on respect for the unity and sovereignty of states.
