Morocco’s tourism sector reached a record level in 2025, generating foreign currency revenues of MAD 138 billion, a 21% increase compared to 2024, the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social and Solidarity Economy announced.

The ministry said this exceptional performance is significant because it surpassed the 2025 target of MAD 120 billion set in the country’s 2026 tourism roadmap. “That’s 18 billion dirhams above the 2026 target, achieved one year earlier,” Minister of Tourism Fatima Zahra Ammor said.

The minister added that MAD 138 billion in tourism revenue means a “stronger contribution to the economy, greater local impact, and more jobs.”

Morocco also welcomed a record number of visitors in 2025, reaching nearly 20 million in 2025. This represents a 14% increase compared to last year.

The country has been diversifying its tourism offerings across different regions, as well as launching several campaigns to promote local destinations abroad.

Domestic tourism also contributed strongly, with Moroccan visitors spending about MAD 48 billion in 2025.
