QatarEnergy announced on Monday the suspension of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and derivatives production following a military attack targeting its operational facilities in the industrial zones of Ras Laffan and Mesaieed, Qatar.

In a statement, the Qatari energy giant praised its relationships with all relevant players, emphasizing that it will continue to share available information.

Qatar ranks among the world’s largest exporters of liquefied natural gas.

Earlier, the Qatari Ministry of Defense announced that the Gulf state had been targeted by an attack involving two drones launched from Iran. The first targeted a water tank at a power plant in Mesaieed, while the second targeted an energy facility owned by QatarEnergy in the Ras Laffan industrial zone, resulting in no casualties.
