A delegation from the United Kingdom’s Royal College of Defence Studies held talks in Rabat this week with Morocco’s House of Representatives, reflecting growing international interest in the North African country’s political and strategic experience.
According to a statement by the Moroccan Parliament, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami received the British delegation on Wednesday as part of an official study visit taking place from May 9 to 15.
The mission includes 17 members of the British institution, accompanied by senior supervisors and experts under a training program focused on global security, stability, and strategic governance.
During the meeting, Talbi Alami presented an overview of Morocco’s political system and highlighted the major national reforms and long-term development projects launched under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.
The discussions also focused on Morocco’s parliamentary experience, which has developed over more than six decades.
The Speaker outlined the main responsibilities of the House of Representatives, including legislation, government oversight, and the evaluation of public policies, in addition to the institution’s expanding parliamentary partnerships at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
The visit reflects the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening dialogue between Morocco and international institutions working on strategic and security affairs.
The Royal College of Defence Studies is part of the British Defence Academy and includes senior civilian and military officials from nearly 50 countries.
Its programs combine academic research with international field visits designed to examine geopolitical challenges and compare policy approaches across different regions of the world.
