A celebration marking the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Vietnam was held on Friday in Rabat by the Embassy of Vietnam in Morocco, in partnership with the High Commission for Former Resistance Fighters and Former Members of the Liberation Army.
On this occasion, a thematic exhibition entitled “President Ho Chi Minh – A Symbol of Peace and International Friendship” was inaugurated. Running through June 26, the exhibition highlights the life and legacy of the Vietnamese national liberation hero, whose actions were guided by the ideals of peace, independence and cooperation among nations.
The celebration, organized in partnership with the Morocco-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site under Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, also featured a seminar on opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the diplomatic, economic, academic, cultural and people-to-people fields.
Speaking at the opening of the event, High Commissioner for Former Resistance Fighters and Former Members of the Liberation Army, Mustapha El Ktiri, emphasized the historical and strategic significance of the ties between Morocco and Vietnam.
He noted that the celebration “embodies the meeting of two peoples whose historical journeys, forged through hardship and guided by the same ideal of freedom, converge in a shared community of values and destiny.”
For her part, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Morocco, Le Kim Quy, welcomed the positive and tangible progress achieved in bilateral relations.
She highlighted the growing number of high-level meetings and visits organized by both countries in recent years, reflecting mutual trust and a shared determination to strengthen their strategic partnership.
The celebration also featured the inauguration of the Ho Chi Minh Library, which includes works in French, English and Arabic donated by the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site to the High Commission for Former Resistance Fighters and Former Members of the Liberation Army.
