The Nigeria-Morocco African Atlantic Gas Pipeline project is one of the most transformative initiatives ever undertaken in the West African region, President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission, Omar Alieu Touray emphasized Sunday in Lungi, Sierra Leone.
In a speech delivered during the 69th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Conference of Heads of State and Government, Alieu Touray added that this gas pipeline will contribute “to promoting strategic infrastructure projects in the region, serving our common future.”
He further stated that the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline will bolster regional integration and improving access to countries of the region.
“By connecting several West African coastal States through a major energy corridor, the Gas pipeline promises to enhance energy security, support industrialization, create jobs, and strengthen economic interdependence among the countries of the region,” he said.
