The Chamber of Commerce of Almería and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Fez-Meknes signed on Monday in Almería (southeastern Spain), a framework cooperation and partnership agreement.
The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral economic relations and promote new business and investment opportunities between the two regions, the Almería Chamber of Commerce said in a press release.
Inked by President of the Almería Chamber of Commerce Jerónimo Parra and President of the Fez-Meknes Chamber of Commerce Hamza Benabdallah, the partnership establishes a framework for sustainable institutional cooperation based on reciprocity, mutual benefit, and joint economic development, the same source adds.
The agreement sets out a framework for joint actions aimed at facilitating the internationalization of Almería-based companies in the Moroccan market, while also supporting operators from the Fez-Meknes region seeking to explore the Spanish market, particularly in the province of Almería and across Andalusia.
Operationally, the text provides for joint promotion of the two regions, regular exchange of economic information, and the organization of business meetings, trade missions, and training programs.
Cooperation will primarily focus on trade, industry, services, tourism, as well as training and culture.
To ensure monitoring and implementation of the commitments, a joint coordination committee will be established to oversee action plans and propose new avenues for collaboration.
Concluded for an initial period of one year, the agreement is renewable for up to four years and may lead to the signing of specific agreements tailored to thematic areas, the press release concludes.
