Donald Trump was sworn in on Monday as the 47th president of the United States at the Capitol Rotunda.
“The Golden Age of America begins right now,” Trump said in his inaugural address kicking off the start of his second presidency.
“From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world,” he pointed out.
Trump pledged to unleash a new era of economic prosperity in the United States as he listed his priorities on trade, immigration and national security.
The US President announced he will declare a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border and designate drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
Trump said he would be creating an External Revenue Service to handle tariffs and duties on foreign trade partners of the United States.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several former US presidents, including Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, as well as members of the U.S. Congress and tech billionaires like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg.
