Morocco’s minister delegate to the head of government in charge of digital transition and administrative reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, held a series of bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s international cooperation in digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) on the sidelines of the United Nations Global Dialogue on AI Governance, taking place in Geneva from July 6 to 10.

The official met with Nigeria’s minister of communications, innovation, and digital economy, Bosun Tijani. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss prospects for partnership between Morocco and Nigeria in the fields of digital transformation and AI.

On this occasion, Seghrouchni presented the D4SD Hub, an Arab-African initiative led by Morocco in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and headquartered in Rabat. Designed as a regional cooperation platform, the D4SD Hub aims to support African and Arab countries in developing and deploying inclusive digital and AI solutions through knowledge sharing, capacity building, and the co-development of innovative projects.

The discussions also focused on the prospects of Nigeria joining the initiative, as well as opportunities to develop bilateral cooperation on high-impact digital and AI projects for the African continent.

The official also held a bilateral meeting with Deemah AlYahya, Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO). Their discussions focused on preparations for the DCO’s upcoming General Assembly, as well as prospects for strengthening cooperation between Morocco and the Organization.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation for the benefit of African and Arab countries, particularly through the D4SD Hub as a platform promoting the development of inclusive digital and AI solutions, capacity building, and South-South cooperation.
