The ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America are guided by a shared vision of the future, stated the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leïla Benali, on Tuesday in Rabat.
“Our common goal is not only to strengthen our bilateral relationship, but also to contribute to building more resilient global value chains, to the benefit of our peoples and our regions,” Benali said during a reception organized by the American Embassy at the historic site of Chellah in celebration of the United States’ National Day.
In this context, the Minister maintained that Morocco will continue to work hand in hand with the United States to help build a safer, more stable, and prosperous world, noting that the two countries are pursuing joint action within multilateral frameworks to promote resilience, growth, and shared prosperity.
Emphasizing that the celebration of the American National Day is an opportunity to reaffirm the unique partnership linking the two countries, she recalled that Morocco was the first nation to recognize the independence of the United States in 1777, thereby solidifying its status as one of America’s oldest allies.
In this regard, she noted that Morocco and the United States are bound by a strategic partnership based on regular and diversified political dialogue, enhanced cooperation in security and defense, structured economic relations, as well as broadened cultural and scientific collaboration.
The Free Trade Agreement, in effect for over two decades, remains a strategic pillar of the relations between Rabat and Washington and a powerful driver of investment and job creation, Benali pointed out.
Within this framework, she invited American companies to take part in the growth dynamic that Morocco is experiencing, including in its Southern Provinces, in line with the foresighted vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
