Moroccan rising star Eliesse Ben Seghir has made it to Leo Messi’s Exclusive Adidas F50 “Triunfo Estelar” team.
The campaign covers a special edition of soccer boots, featuring talented young athletes — both male and female.
The list includes Morocco’s Ben Sghir as well as Lamine Yamal, Moroccan-Spanish FC Barcelona star who recently chose to represent LaRoja.
“Chosen not by chance, by greatness. Meet the 10,” Adidas wrote.
The promotional video by Adidas featured Messi, who chose the other 10 starters to make up a 11-man team. The lineup also features Barcelona’s Vicky Lopez, in addition to Antonio Nusa, Assan Ouedraogo, Jaedyn Shaw, Cavan Sullivan, Joel Ndala, Kenan Yildiz, and Claudi Echeverri.
Eliesse Ben Seghir has recently opened about choosing to represent the Atlas Lions, noting that joining the Moroccan national team did him “a lot of good” and “freed my mind.”
Earlier this month, the Atlas Lion said in a press conference that he also has the confidence of football coaches both in Morocco and with his team Monaco.
“I have the confidence of the coach and I joined a team that was a semifinalist in the World Cup,” Benseghir said, stressing that he is “very happy with his choice.”
In May L’Equipe quoted the Atlas Lion, stressing his choice to represent Morocco over France.
“I made this choice because of my roots; both my parents are Moroccan. It was not an easy choice, but my roots won out,” he said.
