French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Monday in Nairobi that the achievements of the Moroccan education system, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, provide an “extraordinary model” for the African continent.
What Morocco has accomplished, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, is “an incredible revolution,” remarked Macron. Speaking at the closing of the Africa Forward “Inspire & Connect” Business Forum, organized ahead of the “Africa Forward” Summit, he noted that primary, secondary, and university education, yielding some of the best results at the French École Polytechnique, represents “an extraordinary model” for the continent.
The French president also announced 23 billion euros in investments for Africa, pointing out that these investments “will create more than 250,000 direct jobs in France and in Africa.”
Macron expressed that the destinies of Europe and Africa are linked, pointing out that Africa “needs investments” rather than public aid.
Dubbed “Africa Forward: Inspire & Connect,” the event brought together over 1,500 economic decision-makers, investors, and public officials representing Africa, France, and other countries, to discuss major issues related to growth, investment, and the economic transformation of the continent.
The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, took part in the closing ceremony of the business forum, which featured workshops, B2B meetings, and discussions bringing together leaders of major African and French companies, heads of small and medium-sized enterprises, young entrepreneurs, and representatives from the public sector.
