The King’s Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecutor’s Office Hicham Balaoui met Thursday in Rabat with the Comptroller General of the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority (AILC) of the Republic of Chad Ousman Abdraman Djougourou, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom at the head of a large delegation.
This visit forms part of efforts to boost cooperation and the exchange of expertise and experiences between the two institutions, particularly in areas related to corruption prevention, enshrining principles of integrity and transparency, and developing good governance mechanisms.
The meeting was an opportunity to review Morocco’s experience in the fight against corruption, the role played by the Office of the Prosecutor General in protecting public funds, and efforts to promote ethical conduct in public life.
Similarly, the Chadian delegation was briefed on several initiatives launched by the Office of the Prosecutor General, notably the pilot program for a special hotline to receive reports of corruption, as well as the “e_TABLIGH” platform project, built on the most advanced digital technologies.
In this regard, both parties emphasized the importance of furthering coordination and cooperation between their institutions, of being open to various initiatives aimed at developing mechanisms to prevent and combat corruption, and of promoting the exchange of experiences and expertise in the mutual interest of both countries.
The Chadian delegation learned about the mechanisms put in place by the Office of the Prosecutor General in areas of combating corruption and strengthening integrity, the Comptroller General of the AILC of the Republic of Chad said, praising the Moroccan experience, which he described as a model to follow in establishing transparency in public governance.
He also praised strong ties between Morocco and Chad, which are rooted in centuries-old historical ties, and expressed his hope that these relations would continue and grow even stronger in the interests of both countries.
